Let the Mind Come Home

Every day, the mind is moving.

It moves toward people.
It moves toward responsibilities.
It moves toward memories from the past and plans for the future.

Even when the body is sitting still, the mind is often running.

Sometimes it runs back to yesterday — replaying conversations, mistakes, successes, or disappointments. But no matter how many times we think about the past, we cannot change it.

Sometimes it runs forward to tomorrow — worrying about what might happen, hoping for good news, fearing problems that may never come. Yet the future has not arrived.

When the mind lives in the past, it carries regret.
When the mind lives in the future, it carries anxiety.
Only in the present moment can the mind find peace.

Meditation is the practice of bringing the mind home.

Home is not a physical place.
Home is the center within.

When we gently place the mind at the center of the body — the quiet point in the middle — we give the mind a place to rest. We do not force it. We do not fight with thoughts. We simply allow the mind to settle naturally.

Just as a bird returns to its nest after flying all day, the mind also needs a safe and quiet place. The center of the body is that place of safety. It is the place of balance, clarity, and stillness.

As we sit, we can let go.

Let go of people.
Let go of things.
Let go of unfinished stories.

For a few moments, nothing else matters.

When the mind stops clinging to the past and stops worrying about the future, it becomes lighter. And when the mind becomes lighter, it becomes still.

From stillness, a gentle happiness begins to appear.

This happiness does not depend on external conditions. It does not depend on praise, success, or possessions. It arises from within — from a mind that is peaceful and centered.

We do not have to create this peace. It is already there. We simply need to stop running and allow the mind to return home.

Today, take a few quiet minutes.

Sit comfortably.
Close your eyes gently.
Bring your attention to the center of your body.

And let the mind come home.
