Meditation is a retreat from a noisy world. A retreat that is calm and serene. I get a feeling of happiness and joy from this space which over time, quite unconsciously made me choose calm and peace in all situations of my life. Regular meditation creates a space between me and the world around me. That space, that pause has given me an objectivity I lacked.

Meditation helps me learn how to create a space in my consciousness that is free from my mind. So then in my daily life situations, before I react to something with my mind, I “remember” that space, and respond more wisely, instead of just following my mind’s thinking … Meditation creates tranquillity in my experience of life, it is where I go to “teach my mind” to stop foraging in the future and delving into the past, and just to BE in the present moment – accept it for what it is, and be grateful for that. So meditation helps me cope with life’s daily challenges – because it calms my mind down.

Meditation has helped me because it allows me to focus. I procrastinate a lot so Meditation helps me do instead of putting things on hold. I find that I’m a lot happier as well and I have the urge to want to help others who are less fortunate. The little I have I try and share. I connect a lot with nature and the universe which I never used to do. Meditation helped me find that connection. Of course, with Meditation, the requirement is to keep practicing as often as possible so that the mind is fully in tune with the body and the spirit.

“Meditation is a huge benefit I do meditate from home and have done it for quite a few years. but I love the energy/vibration of this group at the meditation center.”

“Hello. Meditating with others, and having some guidance on what to do, allows you to relax and focus on being mindful without distractions.”

I came about the concept of meditation, while I was doing my doctoral research into leadership and management.

In fact, the concept of meditation kept on repeating itself. As I was dealing with a highly traumatic experience and I repeatingly heard about the many benefits of meditation, I starting the practise on my own with very little knowledge of it.

I could emmediately feel results. I felt calmer and more in control. I could sleep better and creatively troublesolve better and faster.

It was only after I joined the Cape Town Meditation Centre that the practise of meditation, with the guidance and love of the monks and staff, that my meditation practise exponentially improved. This had profound spiritual, psychological, sociological and physiological healing that have been slowly and increasingly contributed to my overall well-being. Words just simply fall short but peace, serenity, flow, creativity, magic, awe, joy and happyness and love is direct results experienced.

I highly recommend the experience of meditating in a safe, professional and loving environment, such as the Cape Town Meditation Centre.

Doing meditation is one of the best gifts I have given myself in the pursuit of Self love.

I often feel stressed, anxious, and worried about things I can’t control. Meditation helps me to control my thoughts, quieten my mind, and relax my body so that the illusions of everyday life slowly fade away, and what’s left is just the simple, natural order of us as human beings. No distractions, no worries, no stress, and no overclouded thoughts of things I cannot control.

I’m not a master or pro at meditation, but from what I’ve learned from the monks at the Cape Town Mediation Centre I see a difference in my mind, body, and soul.

They don’t only teach about meditation, but how to be a kind and loving human being and to make a difference in the world one step at a time through meditation. It’s teaching me that peace exists in all of us, I simply need guidance on how to unlock it.

“Meditation sets and maintains my vibration at a higher frequency so I operate better….I approach the day with a graceful poise….as a result, everything yields to that energy and things go gracefully too”

I feel a lot more grounded and calm. My anxiety has reduced. I love learning and practicing meditation. I watch my thoughts now, I see they are not me. I can let them go. I am finding more presence and mindfulness in my day. I literally will get gaps of peacefulness and quiet. When I start to feel anxiety I can quickly snap out of it. Learning from real-life monks makes meditation feel more real. The monks at the center are so happy and peaceful and it’s infectious. You walk out feeling like you are so much more at ease. Thank you Cape Town Meditation Centre.
