Sharing is great

Kindness stands as one of humanity’s greatest virtues. It’s the cornerstone of our societies; without it, relationships are destined to be filled with conflict and frustration. Picture a world where parents don’t nurture their children, friends don’t support one another, and bosses don’t treat their employees well.

A life devoid of kindness would lack meaning. That’s precisely why we mustn’t overlook practicing kindness—by offering food to those in need, supporting friends facing troubles, wishing happiness upon others, and encouraging our family and friends to do the same. This is how we build societies that genuinely care for each other.

Regular acts of kindness not only clear the mind but also diminish greed and desires. They pave the way for a more content life, which is essential for happiness. These acts even complement meditation, making it more accessible and rewarding.

After absorbing the teachings of the monks, participants meditate collectively. They jot down one good deed they intend to perform in the new year and partake in the alm round ceremony, offering food to the monks.
