Today, teaching monks share knowledge about how to reduce the worries from our past mistakes. Because, if we can overcome our worries or learn how to let go it would really improve our happiness level and our meditation experience.
There are 5 steps that you could take.
First, don’t recall or think about your own mistakes. It’s useless and only spoiling your mood.
Second, don’t repeat the same mistake that you know you gonna regret it.
Third, do more good things to redeem for your mistake. Even though you can’t change the past you could change the present.
Fourth, think about all the good deeds that we did so our mind would not go back to thinking about all the mistakes that haunt us.
Fifth, meditate regularly and continuously to purify our minds and have more good energy. Because only a strong mind can control our behavior and the strong mind is the mind that is comfortable, calm, light, and still.
If we compare our lives to saline, our mistake is like salt while our good deeds are like water. The more salty the saline is the more miserable our lives would be. Even though we could not get rid of the salt we could reduce the saltiness of the saline by adding more water. So our life would be less salty and more happy.
