☀️2026 New Year Alms-Giving Ceremony ☀️
💠 Welcoming Good Things into Your Life 💠
On Sunday, 4th January 2026.

Dear Dhamma friends,
Today, we come together to welcome the New Year.
The New Year is not only about fireworks, music, or parties.
The New Year is about a new beginning in our hearts.
💠 NEW YEAR
In Buddhism, we believe this:
A real New Year does not start on January 1st.
A real New Year starts when we understand our life
and sincerely wish to live in a better way.
When we reflect on our thoughts, our actions, and our way of living,
That moment is the true beginning of a New Year.
💠 NEW MIND
The Buddha taught us that the mind leads our life.
When the mind is calm, life is calm.
When the mind is angry or fearful, life becomes heavy and difficult.
So in this New Year,
we do not wish only for money,
not only for a job,
not only for success.
We also wish for a new mind.
A new mind means we think before we react.
We speak with kindness.
We listen with care and understanding.
When the mind changes,
life slowly begins to change as well.
💠 NEW LIFE
Many people ask, “How can I have a new life?”
A new life does not mean a life without problems.
Everyone has problems.
A new life means we face problems with a calm mind,
not with anger,
not with fear.
The Buddha taught something very simple, yet very deep:
Do good.
Do not harm.
Train the mind.
Simple words,
but full of wisdom.

☀️ GOOD ACTIONS
Good actions are not difficult.
They begin with simple things.
Help someone who needs support.
Speak honestly and gently.
Respect others.
Care for the people around you.
We are different—
different cultures,
different languages,
different beliefs.
But kindness is a language understood by everyone.
When we do good,
We help others,
and at the same time,
We heal and protect our own hearts.
☀️ MINDFULNESS
Mindfulness means knowing what is happening right now.
When we walk, we know we are walking.
When we eat, we know we are eating.
When anger arises, we know, “Anger is here.”
We do not fight it.
We do not run away from it.
We simply know it clearly.
When we know clearly,
We suffer less.
The mind becomes calm,
and life feels lighter.
☀️ FORGIVENESS
Last year may not have been easy.
Someone may have hurt us.
Some plans may have failed.
Some dreams may not have come true.
If we carry this pain into the New Year,
our heart becomes heavy.
Forgiveness is not weakness.
Forgiveness is strength.
When we forgive,
We free our own heart,
And we make space for peace to grow.
☀️ ONE HUMAN FAMILY
Dear friends,
We come from different places,
But we are all human.
We all want safety.
We all want respect.
We all want happiness.
This temple is a place of peace,
a place to learn kindness and understanding.
When the mind is peaceful,
the family becomes peaceful.
When families are peaceful,
the world can become peaceful.
☀️ BLESSING
Now, let us welcome the New Year
with a new mind
and a new life.
May you have peace in your heart.
May your mind be calm and clear.
May your words be kind.
May your actions bring compassion.
May this New Year bring
NEW YEAR, NEW MIND, NEW LIFE.
Thank you very much.
Sadhu, Sadhu, Sadhu. 🙏
