Grounding the Senses and Organizing the Mind
Class 1 of the 2026 Mindfulness Course for Teens & Kids on Saturday, 24th January, focused on the practical application of awareness. Two key interactive workshops defined the day:
1) 5 Senses & Mind Reflection: Participants engaged in a grounding workshop to understand how sensory input (sight, sound, smell, taste, touch) affects the mind’s “Process Cycle.” By observing their reactions to different stimuli, teens practiced the skill of “catching” thoughts before they become overwhelmed, allowing them to maintain self-control and internal balance.

Knowing their thoughts and feelings
2) The Mindful Morning Activity: We introduced the concept that “Cleanliness is Mindfulness.” Through a bed-making demonstration and practice, teens learned to start their day with a win. This activity taught them that orderliness in their physical environment directly reflects and supports orderliness in their mental state.
The session concluded with a 15-minute silent meditation. For many, this was their first experience with extended silence, and the result was a collective sense of profound joy and tranquility. We are excited to see these habits grow!

Take good care of your mind. Your life has infinite value and potential for growth.
